چکیده
Abstract Background Traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation is associated with a high risk of instability, reduced functional outcome, and recurrence. We conducted an audit to assess the direct management, review in fracture clinic, definitive imaging patients instability Southport Formby Hospital. Aim To identify compliance 2015 BOA guidelines. Method Identified all from 01/01/2019 31/12/2019 who had coded for their diagnosis. used imaging, scanned notes, clinic letters where available clinical information. excluded false diagnosis code, those non-local post codes analysis. Results identified 67 dislocation. 88% x-rays both AP Lateral. that 8.9% pre-reduction only, 11.9% no x-rays, 1.5 % reduction imaging. 79% were seen within 6 weeks but only 40.3% by specialist 43.3% appropriate 16.4% not given follow up. Conclusion Although most managed acutely according guidelines, up subsequent investigations these can be improved. One method we suggest renaming days consultant names sub-specialty names. In addition, dedicated session guideline senior orthopedic surgeons cold improve as well.

The radiographs of 115 anterior shoulder dislocations (100 patients; 74 males, 26 female were reviewed to assess the radiographic views used in the management of this dislocation. Eighty-eight patients (88%) had only the anteroposterior (AP) view, 10 patients had 2 radiographic views taken and only 2 patients had three radiographic views. Hill-Sachs lesions were found in 18%, and glenoid rim fr...
متن کاملTraumatic anterior instability of the shoulder☆
The shoulder is the most unstable joint in the human body. Traumatic anterior instability of the shoulder is a common condition, which, especially in young patients, is associated with high recurrence rates. The effectiveness of non-surgical treatments when compared to surgical ones is still controversial. The purpose of this study was to review the literature for current concepts and updates r...
متن کاملAcute management of shoulder dislocations.
The shoulder joint has the greatest range of motion of any joint in the body. However, it relies on soft-tissue restraints, including the capsule, ligaments, and musculature, for stability. Therefore, this joint is at the highest risk for dislocation. Thorough knowledge of the shoulder's anatomy as well as classification of dislocations, anesthetic techniques, and reduction maneuvers is crucial...
متن کاملEnlargement of Glenoid Defects in Traumatic Anterior Shoulder Instability
BACKGROUND Large glenoid rim defects in patients with traumatic anterior shoulder instability are often regarded as a contraindication for arthroscopic Bankart repair, with a defect of 20% to 27% considered as the critical size. While recurrence of dislocations, male sex, and collision sports were reported to be the significant factors influencing large glenoid defects, the influences of sublux...
